God money goes fast...

another Blogit post...Got my grants and scholarships yesterday...
spent 250 on books, over a grand on back bills, paid Sept. rent and bought a couple of other books - got Alisha a Bukowski collection that we had been reading from at Borders a while back. I like being able to spend, but it goes so fast. After I get the rest of my money (loans) next week and pay everything (like rent through December, and buy what I must have, I'll have less than a thousand to last the semester. This is why I must work...and work...and work...
Although, I must admit, I have not been working all that much since I got back from the islands, it seems like a lot in the heat. Today I have to get tires and an oil change, buy the new GRE software, buy school supplies for both Jaime and myself, and hopefully, I'll get to have some fun too...
Oh well, I better get busy....
Hey, LIBERTINE, post something....

Another day another lack of dollars...

Well, I was supposed to be grouting at Chris's house today...
but his fiance is sick and unable to get out of bed because one of the cats stepped on a stove knob and they had gas in the house last night. She is violently allergic to just about everything and is frequently sick. So I told him I'd come on Thursday instead as I already have plans to spend the day with Alisha tomorrow.

It really does not bother me, I didn't feel like working today anyhow, not grouting at least. Instead, I am working on a poster for the Tutoring Center. I went in and talked to Louisa (the big boss), got the text of the Mission Statement that Alisha wrote for her to go with the brochure she gave me last week and confirmed the color scheme and the photo I chose. I'll try and finish it today and drop the disk off in the morning so that she can get it to Reprographics to be printed.

I really enjoy doing creative work, even though it doesn't pay much doing it for the University (at least if you're a student). I need to get on the ball, find other sources of such work in the area that actually pay and get out of the trades for good. I would really rather get my exercise at the gym and make my money with my mind.

Also, I need to start working on my statement of purpose and CV for grad school applications, applications open day after tomorrow, on the first, and I don't want to wait too long. I am trying to keep myself busy as with both our kids in school Alisha and I have not been seeing much of each other the last few days and I am feeling lonely and out of sorts because of it. I Like her damnit! Oh well, maybe we will appreciate the time we do have together more...and I'll be seeing her for a bit this afternoon and we will have tomorrow during the day anyhow. Fuck! I still miss her.

Well, I better get back to work y'all...peace......Out!

Another Blogit post...

Been doing research on Cirriculum Vitae this evening...
as I will have to complete one shortly as part of my Grad School application process. I will be cribbing from a few of my Soc Professors published CV's for format and content. I also watched the first episode of HBO's ROME...looks like it will be a great show. Alisha Went camping to Mono Lake yesterday so I'm missing her. Though she just got back, I doubt I will see her tonight as life is back in session and her Daughter starts school @ 7am tomorrow. Damn! That means I'll be back to sleeping alone most weeknights, and I'd really rather not.
Oh well, what ya gonna do? Life is full of small dissapointments. I have a full day of work tomorrow at the professors house trying to get it back in shape for his return tomorrow evening or tuesday. I have been finding it difficult to force myself to go out there and work. Now I'm down to the wire and I have to get a certain minimum done. It has been too fucking hot to work out in the sun and the rest of what I have to do there is in the full glare. Oh well, I have an excuse in the heat, because it has been too hot for optimum concrete conditions as well, but that is a half assed excuse as there are ways around the heat when pouring - such as running a sprinkler on drying mud.
Also, I have been doing some work for a friend who is also a tutor. His fiance is allergic to everything and they just bought a small house. I have tiled their bath and bedrooms this week (so as to get rid of carpet smells that are impossible for her) and will be grouting Tuesday. Then I will tear the old wood off back wall of house (outside) and plaster it. There is also some electrical work and plumbing they want done, so I will have another sourse of income this semester.
I am looking forward to school starting next week, and my financial aid should come in Friday which will save my ass. I have not paid any bills this month, and my bank account is almost five-hundred dollars overdrawn...this is bad...but the aid checks will cover everything. I'll be able to pay rent through December, buy Jaime School clothes and maybe even get myself a present. I'll also be able to take Alisha out to a nice dinner or two, and maybe get her something pretty. That will be cool, I hate being broke.
Anyhow, just thought I'd check in and tell y'all what is up with me...Hey JoeLove...I'm blogging, and playing with my TOOLbar.
How do ya like them apples? Let me tell ya, it feels great!
Adios muchachos....peace!
